ATTORNEY INFORMATION EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE: Joanne received her undergraduate degree from Bridgewater State College. She received her J.D. from New England School of Law. She is also a certified mediator. Her legal experience began with her work at the Attorney General's Office as a Mediator, Consumer Information Specialist, and ADR Specialist on the national insurance class action suits against John Hancock, MetLife and Prudential which included advocacy throughout the Commonwealth. In 2000, she opened her own practice in Quincy, Massachusetts, where her practice included elder law, family law, employment law and real estate. Her practice is now located in Abington, Massachusetts. Her elder law practice now involves working with elder and their families in all areas of long term care planning. This planning includes as long term medical issues (Alzheimer's, dementia, hospice, hospitalizations), financial planning for long term care (Medicare, MassHealth, health insurance), guardianships, and conservatorships. She also does estate planning which includes wills, health care proxies, durable powers of attorney, trusts (irrevocable, revocable, and Special Needs Trusts), and special needs planning for families with disability issues such as mental illness and mental retardation. Joanne frequently does elder law presentations for the Alzheimer's Association and many local Council on Aging agencies.
